Why an optimal intra-workout product is just as important as pre- and post-workout supplementation
While most bodybuilders and strength athletes pay meticulous attention to their pre-workout supplementation and would never finish a training session without their post-workout shake right after the last set, many of them more or less completely overlook the important significance of optimal intra-workout supplementation. For most, a mineral drink that may contain a few simple carbohydrates like dextrose or maltodextrin is the ultimate.
If you belong to this group of strength athletes and bodybuilders, we have important news for you: If you train really intensively and do without the right intra-workout nutrition, you are giving away an enormous potential and consciously or unconsciously foregoing a part of your potential gains!
Yes, we knew you would care and that's why we've created Infusion, an optimized intra-workout drink that meets even the needs and demands of a bodybuilder.
But what exactly are the benefits that Infusion Intra-Workout can bring you? The short version is this:
A generous serving of so-called cluster dextrins, which have the advantage of less stomach retention time and little impact on your insulin levels compared to all other soluble carbohydrates such as glucose, other simple sugars or maltodextrin, ensures that you are continuously supplied with maximum energy during your hard workout.
The 14,000 mg megadose of essential amino acids, which contains 8,000 mg BCAAs in the optimal 2:1:1 ratio, provides your muscles with much-needed essential amino acids during training and can thereby either completely prevent or at least greatly mitigate the otherwise unavoidable training-induced catabolic environment, which initially provides for a breakdown of muscle protein during training before a rebuilding takes place during recovery after training. As a result, your body can start recovering faster after training, less lost muscle protein needs to be rebuilt and ultimately more muscle mass can be built.
Of course, Infusion Intra Workout can also speed up your recovery, accelerate your muscle building and much more. The cumulative benefits including scientific studies and evidence can be found in the description of each ingredient.
Cluster Dextrins 35.000 mg
During hard and intense workouts, your body uses carbohydrates (glucose) as its primary source of energy because energy production from fatty acids is simply too slow to meet the energy needs of your hard-working muscles. Your body gets this glucose from blood sugar and the glycogen stores of your muscles and liver. When these stores start to run low, your energy starts to wane and your body starts to pull BCAAs from your muscle tissue for energy, which requires it to break down muscle protein - not something we really want.
To maintain maximum training energy - and to speed up recovery after training, as glycogen stores are less depleted during training, you can supply your body with easily digestible carbohydrates during training that keep your blood sugar levels constant. Commonly used for this purpose are table sugar, dextrose, maltodextrin or similar, but due to the high osmotic value of the sugar solution, they have a longer stomach residence time before they can be absorbed in the intestines. In addition, many of these carbohydrates cause severe fluctuations in blood sugar levels and insulin levels and do not provide you with long-lasting consistent energy.
And this is where the long-chain cyclic dextrins - aka cluster dextrins - contained in Infusion Intra Workout come into play. Cluster Dextrins consist of 6 to 8 glucose molecules that have a ring structure. Due to this special structure, cluster dextrins, when dissolved in liquid, have a much lower osmotic value than all other sugar and carbohydrate solutions, which means that they can pass through the stomach much faster and are available to your muscles as an energy source more quickly (1, 2).
Another advantage is that cluster dextrins raise blood sugar evenly over a longer period of time, so there are no unwanted strong insulin spikes that cause wild swings in blood sugar levels and exercise energy. In fact, there are studies showing that cyclic dextrins are vastly superior to maltodextrin and dextrose when it comes to delaying muscle fatigue and increasing stamina during exercise (3).
EAAs 14,000 (of which 8,000 mg in the classic 2:1:1 ratio)
During hard and intense workouts, your body consumes increased amounts of amino acids - especially BCAAs - which almost inevitably creates a catabolic environment where muscle protein is broken down and metabolized. This catabolic environment continues for a while after training until it is eventually transformed into an anabolic, muscle-building environment as part of the recovery process. In other words, with every training session you first take one step back in terms of muscle building, and then take two steps forward.
However, if you supply your body with a large amount of essential amino acids(EAAs) including a good portion of BCAAs with Infusion Ultra Workout, your body does not need to resort to muscle protein and you can prevent the training-induced catabolic environment completely in the ideal case and at least greatly mitigate it in the worst case. As a result, your body not only does not break down muscle tissue, but can also start building new muscle mass faster after training because it does not have to eliminate a catabolic environment. In addition, the leucine contained in EAA Matrix has a strong protein synthesis and muscle building stimulating effect via the mTOR pathway.
All of this results in you building more muscle mass and strength during each training session than you would without proper intra workout supplementation!
Electrolyte mixture 5150 mg
The electrolyte mixture contained in Infusion Intra Workout serves, on the one hand, to compensate for electrolyte losses occurring during training through sweat and, on the other hand, to give the drink the optimal osmotic value, which enables the fastest possible stomach passage and rapid absorption of the contained ingredients.
