GN Laboratories Magnesium Citrate - the most convenient form of magnesium supplementation with the highest bioavailability.

GN Laboratories Magnesium Citrate is a high-dose magnesium supplement for athletes and all other people who have an increased magnesium requirement. 100% of the daily requirement of magnesium ensure that any potential magnesium deficiency is compensated as quickly as possible and effectively prevent an undersupply of the body with magnesium.

What are the benefits of GN Laboratories Magnesium Citrate compared to other magnesium products?

You can find a variety of different magnesium supplements on the market with a wide range of dosage forms, and virtually every one of these products advertises to meet your magnesium needs. However, most users are not aware that not all magnesium dosage forms are equally good, but have significantly different oral bioavailabilities. Bioavailability describes the amount of a nutrient that the body can actually absorb, while the rest is excreted by the body undigested. For this reason, when choosing your magnesium supplement, it is important to look for the highest possible bioavailability.

Many products contain simple magnesium carbonate, which is available very cheaply, but does not have particularly good bioavailability. We at GN Laboratories, on the other hand, have chosen magnesium citrate, which is more expensive, but according to scientific research has the highest bioavailability of all magnesium dosage forms. However, maximum bioavailability was still not enough for us, which is why we increased the magnesium dose in GN Laboratories Magnesium Citrate to 300 mg of magnesium (2 capsules), or 80% of the daily requirement for the average person, to ensure that hard training athletes and other people with increased magnesium needs also get sufficient amounts of magnesium.

Why is magnesium so important for the body?

Magnesium is a mineral that is significantly involved in a large number of important processes in the body. Conversely, this means that a deficiency of magnesium means that all these processes are impaired and can only take place to a limited extent. Magnesium is an important component of hundreds of enzymes involved in the carbohydrate and protein metabolism of the body, and without magnesium the build-up of body proteins including muscle protein is not possible. In addition, magnesium is essential for energy production in the mitochondria of cells and regulates the transmission of stimuli in muscles and nerves, making it an essential mineral for muscle function and performance. Since magnesium is an important component of enzymes needed for fat burning, it can support fat loss, as well as increase physical endurance by increasing the use of body fat for the purpose of energy supply.

In addition to this, magnesium is responsible for muscle relaxation, which means that a magnesium deficiency can lead to muscle cramps and uncontrolled muscle twitching. Other consequences of magnesium deficiency can include bronchoconstriction, which can lead to breathing difficulties and asthma attacks, and constriction of the blood vessels due to a lack of relaxation of the smooth muscle of the blood vessels, which can lead to high blood pressure and poorer blood flow to the body tissues. But that's not all. Magnesium is also critical for healthy teeth and bones. Magnesium plays an important role in bone stability, and a magnesium deficiency can promote osteoporosis and joint problems.

Why is magnesium deficiency so common?

Numerous studies conducted by such major organizations as the World Health Organization (WHO) have concluded that almost half the world's population does not consume enough magnesium to meet the recommended daily requirement of 300 to 400 mg. This situation is further aggravated by the fact that this amount is often insufficient to meet the daily requirement, especially for people who are physically active or exposed to high levels of stress.

The tricky thing about a magnesium deficiency is that it is not immediately noticeable in the form of low magnesium levels in the blood, as the body first taps into magnesium stored in bones and other body tissues. As a result, it can take several months after starting magnesium supplementation for magnesium levels to return to normal.

There are a number of reasons for the magnesium deficiency that is widespread among the population. One of these reasons is the constantly increasing stress in our hectic times, which can significantly increase the need for magnesium. The increasingly poor diet, which increasingly includes fast food and highly processed foods, is also a major contributor to magnesium deficiency, as it hardly includes foods such as nuts, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, which are naturally rich in magnesium. In addition to a poor diet, alcohol consumption and the use of certain medications such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, antihypertensives and laxatives also promote magnesium deficiency through increased excretion. Furthermore, athletes and physically active people need more magnesium due to increased muscle activity and increased electrolyte loss through sweat.

So, as you can see, there are quite a few good reasons to do your body some good and prevent a magnesium deficiency by using GN Laboratories Magnesium Citrate!
